{"id":1229,"date":"2010-01-21T22:50:09","date_gmt":"2010-01-22T03:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.majik.org\/cruxenrose\/?p=1229"},"modified":"2010-01-21T22:50:09","modified_gmt":"2010-01-22T03:50:09","slug":"breaking-news-on-marijuana-in-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.majik.org\/cruxenrose\/breaking-news-on-marijuana-in-california\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking news on Marijuana in California"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The California Supreme Court today struck down the state&#8217;s limits on how<br \/>\nmuch medical marijuana a patient can possess, concluding that the<br \/>\nrestrictions imposed by the Legislature were an unconstitutional<br \/>\namendment of a 1996 voter-approved initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The decision means that patients and caregivers with a doctor&#8217;s recommendation to use marijuana can now possess as much as is<br \/>\n&#8220;reasonably related to the patient&#8217;s current medical needs,&#8221; a standard<br \/>\nthat the court established in a 1997 decision.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very pleased. They gave us exactly what we wanted,&#8221; said Gerald F. Uelmen, a law professor at Santa Clara University who argued<br \/>\nthe case for Patrick K.
